Raj & Riya School fund (Ongoing)
Raj and Riya are in the 9th and 8th grade. They are brother and sister, living in Bodhgaya, India. Bodhgaya is located in one of the poorest States in India. Their father is a very hard worker who drives an auto rickshaw (Tuk-Tuk) to make money to eat. They are a family of 5. When I first met them they were living in a small room with one bed. The 3 children slept on the bed and the mother and father slept on the floor.
The public school system in the area is unfortunately sub-standard. The father has been dependent on the kindness of others to get his children a proper education in private schools. Raj and Riya are excellent students and very grateful for the education.
The cost for the school is approximately $600 per year per child for tuitions, books and uniforms.
